Funny how a thread like this can stir the memories. Many moons ago there was an "inconclusive" picture of a fish claimed to be a sea trout of similarly big proportions,if not moreso. It was published in the T&S magazine I think, or perhaps the salmon, trout and sea trout publication before it went out of circulation. There was a flurry of correspondence with claim and counter claim. This was the part of a series of correspondence where the late Hugh Falkus proclaimed "If thats a sea trout - my Ic..ks a Lobster" I Forgot the picture of the fish but not that great quotation.... ;D It was actually Arthur Oglesby the guy that killed 15 Salmon in one day It was definitely falkus & it was a fish i am sure was reported to be 21lb, i am sure it was from your neck of the woods skagit

Well what can I say, take my hat off to all you guys that are so sure from the photo that its a Salmon. As I have seen many experienced Gillie'S and myself included having difficulty deciding with big Sea Trout on the river bank but usually a scale count confirms.
