Big Sea Trout are quite common where I fish, if you look how far back the scissor is from the mouth, and how wide the tail base is and a scale count from the lateral line to the adipose fin was 15 Salmon is 10-13. Also the fish was confirmed as being a Sea Trout by Three other experienced anglers. But every one is entitled to there opinion.

But every one is entitled to there opinion. Of course they are. Not the best photo, we can be sure that it is a salmonid for sure but I would wager that it was a salmon. BnC

Skagit, I dont think that your picture 'gives the game away'! i take it you mean that the maxilla extends beyond the line of the eye!!! there is a distinct lack of spots below the lateral line to convince me that this is a sea trout! but because of the angle of the shot i will stand undecided! you claimed this fish as one of three salmon you had caught in a day, on another forum!! why the change of heart??
