Loop evotec g4 or Guideline Quadra both fantastic drag systems,
They are not the cheapest but very reliable.

How about a Marquis Salmon? With the rim around the spool they have the 'palm drag' function

Get a zane.
And make it your first reel, your bairns will be able to hand doon to your grandbairns.
looks great and the sound of the click is like nothing else i have heard. And you can get them cheap.

You having a laugh? Horrible looking thing, get yourself an old Daiwa It may be £200 off the rrp but it still doesn't look like £100 worth

i asked about the Scierra on the darkside this evening.
Spec wise it looks good and sells for 250+ elsewhere but the spare spool is nearly £150 so i went and spent £140 on a Hardy uniqua (re branded Sirrus) with a spare spool from the states.
it seems a much better buy and those on the dark side who got one have no complaints with them

Im not all that keen on the modern reels and prefer the hardy reels of yesteryear, most of which can be bought on ebay.
Love the Perfect 4.5". They have a cracking drag and make the "perfect" noise when playing a fish.
I also like the drag on the hardy Sovereign 12/13. I have had this reel for 15 years, and it's still as solid as a rock.
