Hi all I started fishing the river Clyde this season and found information about it hard to come by initially. I've flung together a document with all the tips i have found out so far and hopefully it can be of use to others hoping to fish the clyde for the first time or just for a day, particularly if you intend to wade and haven't done so on the river before. its a .pdf so open in adobe acrobat reader, most people should be able to open it problem free. Enjoy Steve www.mediafire.com/?tgxyijnmd2v

Evening guys, The misses got some pic's of the weir at Blantyre and also Bothwell Bridge this morning , I have spent ages trying to get them off her phone to post here , cant seem to manage it , ill try again later. I have fished the Clyde for 14 years and never seen it as high , it is going straight over the weir .

Hello all, its me again. A72 was shut at Garrion Bridge tonight, don't know why. I'm going down to Crossford in the morning for a look. Last time the river was anywhere near this big was 1977/78 and it was flowing through my grannys house at Crossford.

Just like old times alan, joe and dave I heard the valley was closed with detours up onto the a73, also that the popinjay hotel was getting a little wet too. Hopefully it abates overnight

Went for a look at Crossford today. river has been nowhere near as high as it was in 1978. We then went up to thankerton, it was torrential rain this afternoon, and it was working its way towards Glasgow, as we all now know. i doubt if the river will drop much in the next few days.

A guy I work with lives in Thankerton. I'll keep you posted with the weather there this week.

Incredible difference in those two pictures. The force of mother nature and I was just reading that, in the years ahead we can expect a lot more of these storms.
