Money wasted if you ask me, i got myself a carron and some poly tips and haven't looked back.

To be honest i thought the guy was a bit up himself, all he talked about was how he had more experiance than any of the gillies on the tay and that he was a tackle designer with more experiance than most.

I was/am no expert it was my first set up with double handers after a short spell with a hardy demon that i couldney use atol. I tried another full spey line with it and it was a much better match. But then i was telt about SH and tried one an AFS and it flee's oot the thing in the rite hands ;D Am getting the jist o it now though and very happy with it diny think al need any other spey line on it

Had a monteith line for a week before it got sold, it's light on a Norway and with the 10' and 15' on, the 10' doesn't turn over, it just falls from the sky. It was like casting a double taper, if it had a taper it might have went Try the proline instead, the most fun to cast of a B&w, rattles off.

There's not many, if any, floating lines that can gracefully handle 10ft or over fast sink tips

It was a floating and inter tip, but you raise a good point. A 15' tip with another 10' tip on the end isn't going to turn easily without any taper on them.
I turned a 10' T10 and T11 tips on three floating lines this week, not the first choice for full floating work albeit.

Aye there is a limit to what length you can add to a line especially fast sink and super fast sink tips.
Pity Carron didn't make sink tip lines or even multi tip lines they are a bit better balanced

The first dtx lines, I got a few last year and didn't like them so they went back into the box. I emailed Peter Charles ( www.hooked4life.ca ) about skagit and he mentioned the first lines turned skagit tips, so gave them a try again. The 50' 8/9 is like a long shooting head, turned T11 with a bit of effort, very surprising.
