Any of the forum members got fishing sorted for the new season? Yes plenty but decreasing at a rapid rate. Impending fatherhood not productive, in a fishing sense.

Any of the forum members got fishing sorted for the new season? Yep! Am booked for a few Saturdays later on in March/April on the lower river. Looking forward to it. I have never fished the Prawn on the Tay before. Also trying a day on Thursday, 17 February when my youngest will be accompanying me for his first time on the Tay. He would like to emulate what I did as a youngster - (I caught a really nice Springerwhen I had just turned 15 but he doesn't fish enough!) His last trip was 2-3 years ago to Lower Makerstoun on the Tweed and he really enjoyed himself. Truth be told, he has only ever fished with a double hander and can Spey Cast better than he can tie a knot! tweedbunnet

Good luck to the Tay for this season and the next and thereafter
Hope to get a go on there one day as I've never fished it. Some people say I'm not a salmon fisher until I have fished the Tay, but I think that's a bit harsh, maybe not a REAL salmon fisher??

Ade
anyone who sets out to deliberately catch a Salmon is a real salmon fisher IMHO!
Doesn't matter where they are fishing
