Ok in the contexts in which it was made and the era at the time. If you are referring to the killing of salmon in that video footage Stevie, we need to be aware of the year when that was actually made/filmed. Its (relatively) only recently that catch and release came to the Tay, so may well have been made years ago when taking fish was more acceptable than it is now.  |

I was up at Pitlochry Dam for a day out with the other half yesterday and seen an angler hook, play and throw the Salmon up the bank, Is this acceptable practice when one is practicing C&R?
Any thoughts?

Any thoughts? He is certainly not showing the fish respect at the very least. Even if he did have the right to chap it etc. I take it it was a 2011 clean springer? |

Heard this story myself from several anglers. Allegedly, the culprit is a well known figure in the salmon fishing world. I hope this is just gossip as if not it is disgusting treatment of a fish  |

All rods now require to register under their own name so would not be hard to identify the culprit. The fact that this is one of the most public fisheries in Scotland means this sort of stuff should be jumped on. |
