I urge every member to write to Mr Jack at the TDSFB. Struggling to understand why both these fish were killed, is it for a big tip, can't think of any other reason.

He's been doing it for years and getting away with it. And what is laughable is that untill recently you's had him as the Chairman of the Tay Ghillies.

Intresting to see how I am percieved by my peers.
I am not going to get into a slanging match because I dont think that is the way to go.
The 33 pounder was caught on a tomic and was hooked so far back the gill rakers that it was actually dead by the time it reached the boat. I personally wasnt in the boat it was Ally Scott the ghille who made the call to retain the fish.
The 24lb fish was caught on a worm and was unfortunately also hooked in the gill rakers although we were using circle hooks was bleeding heavily so I took the decision to kill it.
With regard to the Tay Ghillies I was the Chairman for two years and tried hard to build bridges between the board and the ghillies which I personally think we did well, others will have their own opinion. I resigned last year as my daughter was diagnosed with a disability which required a lot of my spare time so that is why I dont attend meetings like I used to.
I hope this clarifies the position, however if anyone wishes to discuss this face to face the post code for the hut is PH2 8DU

If you kill a lot of fish you shouldn't be surprised when you get a reputation for it, and when you get a reputation for it you shouldn't be surprised when no one gives you the benefit of the doubt when it comes to killing these big fish.
When your peers are practising and encouraging others to practise restraint you really cant blame them for being pissed off at seeing springers and big MSW fish being chapped.
Taking the odd one for the pot is fine but seriously who needs a 20 - 35lb salmon for the freezer? Its a sin.

Catching them on a worm is a sin, it's about time you banned it on the Tay !
