Fly Tying Night at Potarch Hotel

There's a fly tying night at the Potarch hotel this evening where innovative designer of the Park shrimp etc Ross Macdonald will be on hand to show his craftsmanship in fashioning these fabulously successful flies.

There will also be a film show where we will be showing fishing dvd's from hosted trips in Scotland, Russia and Argentina. Admittance is free and the event will start about 8 pm. Hope to see you there. It represents a good chance to catch with some highly talented Scandinavian fly tyers who will also be present to discuss and demonstrate their skills.

The night went very well with over 25 anglers turning up for the event. Preceded witha nice dinner the event kicked of with an explanation about the development of flies and materials used to maximise the profile and movement. Then there was a demontration of fly tying by Macd which was very well received with all flies brought along for the visitors to look at being purchased. There was then a 30 minute film presentation of sea trout fishing in Rio Grande river this January (with a great soundtrack)and a 30 film presentation of salmon fishing in Russia. I think its something that we could do on a monthly basis-so watch this space for further details.
