One of my own personal favourites. this is tied on an 8 and a bit bigger than i usually fish them.. Tie them on 14's and 16's and this wee fly is in a league of its own.

FP, Again a beautiful fly, really like the colour of the front hackle...is it a hen or cock and what colour is it?

Not at all!!! Looking forward to your additions... As for the front hackle i have no idea what the exact colour is but its a cock cape I bought it from John McLaughlin's stand at a game fair in Belfast a few years back.. It looked orange under the lights in the Kinghall.. then again i was on the sauce the night before so my eyes probably wherent working right ;D When i got it home and out of the bag a few days later it looked completely different to what i thought i had bought.. But under the natural light its a really rich ginger colour.. I have hardly used the cape so i'll bring it down and you can have a few samples of it if you want or even take it down to him and see if he has another the same.
