This is a lovely fly for clear water Maggie is kenny's (greenbanks) late wife and the fly is named in her memory. Here is an early fish from the Durris Stream at Park, caught by Kenny

Lovely fly and i have one just like it tied with a cone head given to me last April patiently waiting for a swim this spring.

He sure does! For some strange reason I got into the habit of keeping it "in reserve". If the going was tough I put it on out of desperation and it saved several blank days. The sensible thing to have done is obvious... Last year it worked a treat on the South Esk in October and got me my biggest fish to date at 25lbs. I suspect it was created more as a spring fly (?) but it does well all season. Calvin's was made with the backend in mind but is a cracker in the spring! All these theories about spring/autumn colours are b****x, by the way.
