Thanks for the comments guys, macd the wing is black squirrel tail hair, undergillie i must tie some up like that ive seen a few pics with the shorter red body (more of a red butt) and they look good, do you think they are more successful tied like that?

thanks st- i thought it might be something other than squirrel from the pic.
anyway, im inspired and off to make a few for myself....will be a nice change from copper tubes

Braw flee try it with glo-brite no 5 as a tag on the rear third Wasn't it #4 Glo-Brite in the original? I've also tied it with #3 for more back-end use. I like the fly a lot - good all round catcher of salmon and sea-trout. I tend to go for more silver (with tag) with fresher fish and more red with older fish.

Hi sinktip, i don't know if they are any better i just like them done with a butt rather than half and half. Sloggi i think you are right about #4 glo-brite, i just like the #5 mdh the red holographic is awsome aswell
