Lovely looking fly, and one that will attract fish from the start to the end of the season. This fly has a lovely neat head, and well done for following the original dressing, with the front half of the body black. I must confess I usually just opt for a silver body for ease.
I wonder if there is a reason why you tie the black wing shorter than I have seen in other versions of this pattern?
Also, do you leave the front end of the tail fibers long, so that they sit along the top of the tube, underneath the body material? ( I can't see any bump in the body).
Do you tie the tag of silver tinsel that sits behind the tail fibers in before or after you have secured the tail fibers ?
Finally,.............. sorry but I dinnae like the green extension tubing (a personal aversion). Does it give you extra confidence?
Cheers Fenton

I thought for a change i'd stick to the original. I usually do tie with a full tinsel body for easiness as my first attempts at half and half where a disaster but i decided to take the bull by the horns and master it this year.
The wing comes to the tag or start of the tail anymore and it will wrap around the hook although i have tied and had success with cascades with a long wing, its personal preference really.
The tag is tied in first before the tail.
The tail excess fibres run up the tube to where i want the body to finish and i tie the wing in. It provides a nice ramp so the wing sits proud of the body..
The green tag is purely a personal touch for the spring/early summer id swap it to fire red later in the year.
