I am fishing this beat on Friday. The last time I fished here albeit for trout was before the A9 was redirected and the new bridge built. And I was wondering if any other members who have fished here recently can recall what the beat was like back then and what changes to the beat are apparent.

Ahem - I recall many a good day or morning fishing for the troot right under where they eventually made the bl**dy bridge. The used to be a nice tail of the pool that fanned out a little and then dropped into a deeper section. The trout used to lie just as it went over into this deeper bit. One evening on a yellow sally, managed to catch 8 fish up to 1 1/2lbs all on the dry fly - superb fishing. Also lost what would have been my biggest Brown trout in the neck of the stream below the bridge. (it heads for a big rock tight on the left bank - is this the black rock pool??) Any how hooked this thing on the worm and had it, eventually right to the rim of the net when it slipped the hook arrrgh. No joke it must have been 6-7 lbs a nice big yella belly. Never forget that fish.
