Does anyone on this forum have (apart from you Martin) any experiences with the 15ft version. Seriously thinking of getting one after trialing one or two more!

Right and here it is, but please note that its my personal thoughts on the rod and not that of an expert caster who would supply far better feed back than I.
First impressions are: It is beautifully made and finished off with, rich deep colours on the blanks/tyings and looked the aristocrat of rods, its made out to be!!. Martin set the 15ft rod up first and coupled the Monty multi tip with a fast sink tip. First cast and I could feel the difference straight away between that and my other rods I had previously owned.
It felt it had a back bone to it, and well balanced in my opinion and cast that line out with consumate ease. Its a rod that doe's not like to be rushed in the forward cast, and I found that I had to slow my normal forward stroke down considerably. It helped me in one or two bad anchors (mean't that to see how it would perform;-) ) and it proved very capable indeed. I felt that with a few more hours under my belt, it would improve my overall casting greatly.
We then tried the Rio SH and all I can say about that set up on this rod and the casting distances that I was achieving was nothing short of obscene. Never threw a line out so far in all my life and very very easy to as well. I will let Martin tell you how far it went, as I don't want to make it look as if i'm making anything up here, but it flew cross that river, and the smile on my face said it all really.
I tried the fourteen footer as well but did not have the correct weighed lines with us to give me a balanced view on it, other than its as good or better, than its bigger brother.
Would I buy one - absolutley, unless some thing better came up and I doubt that very much. So its down to washing the dishes, saying she needs her hair done and buying her that expensive perfume - to my dear wee wife who will see it my way come January

Im glad to see another user holds the same opinion as myself.
The one big benefit i found with the 16 was that it didn't matter if you were consistently getting good anchor points, the rod was still usable and threw the line out well. So much so martin was hitting the middle of the tay with his left hand open just to show the power. I have only had a look at mine so far as the rivers high and horrid, and it is finished very well, aesthetic nice and you can feel how much more power it has in it compared to the B&W 14 footer i have. ill need to find a flooded field tomorrow for a fling in the wind.
As for the price, it is relatively cheap compared to other brand marque models so defiantly worth the money, now...to see if i can get a second at discount ;D

Have you found a line that gives the right balance with it yet martin?
I was thinking on a 9/10 airflo multi tip, it's a short head but slightly heavyer so shouldnt be far off, a third of the price of a monteith also.
Still not managed out for a play yet with the weather
