Aye 52 fish, 7 rods on, 2 ladies who had never fished before and another novice, all on fly, fish spread throughout the beat, river up today and full of weed more rain forecast so that will get some fish up the river for the rest of us, after saying that good luck to them, make hay when the sun shines.

Fished the Ettrick ( Selkirk AA ) this morning and was shocked by the changes to the beat due to heavy flooding, the gravel deposits have to be seen to be believed. Anyhow down form the cauld afterafter ten minutes I missed a small pluck but next cast I was into a small red grilse which was quickly returned. Next cast another fish on for about ten seconds before freeing him/herself. Next pool down and another fish this a much more spirited battle and weighing in at about 8lbs, not fresh but cleaner than the grilse, again duly returned. It was only 10am. Fish everywhere but no other connections.
