Nipped down to the Clyde this morning for a cast with the new rod (couldn'y wait any longer) with TB and it was baltic to say the least.
Ice was too far out from the banking to get a proper anchor, but it did at least allow me/us try the rod(s) out, and cleared some cobwebs from my lungs. Got some funny looks from the passing cars ;D

It was great fun driving through Central Scotland and I was amazed at the depth of the snow. 8-10 inces at least.
As KF says, it was absoloutely baltic but really good to be at the waterside again.
We were very limited by the ice but KF was casting away as if he had used his new Rod all last season.
The videos will only see the light of day if I understand the mechanics of Spey Casting!

Casting practice has been non existent up in Inverness. I normally use the boating pond down town, but it's about 5" thick with ice at the moment. Spey-O-rama is at the start of April and if the ice doesn’t thaw soon, the old left hand snake Roll's going to suffer

what did you think of the rod then kenny? More like what did the rod think of me ;D ;D Rod was good, but because of the extreme cold conditions and gloves on etc, never had a decent go at it. will try again later when the ice flows near the side melt. www.motionbox.com/videos/d497d5b41516e3ce5bConstructive comments always welcome.

Go on Kenny tell us what the new rod is. I'm sure I seen a photo of yourself getting a wee casting lesson from Mr Mckenzie. Did you buy one of his Rods?

Not yet, money tighter than I though at the moment, as I have others areas of spend to content with as well. Maybe in the not too distant future though p.s what kept you from finding us?
