Just a note of warning for those of you who send or receive by recorded delivery.
Salmonnut sent me devons on 14th dec, I hadnt received them by the time I left on holiday 17th dec. No worries, I could pick them up from the sorting office on my return today if they had not been returned to sender.
No such luck. SN hadnt put his return address on so off to Belfast goes the package.
How do I get it back I enquire.
You cant says the manager not even embarrassed--it will have been opened and disposed off.
You have to be joking says I.
Nope says she, standard procedure.
I then tried to contact Customer Services and was greeted with an ASK SARAH icon. No possibility of speaking to anyone, totally automated with no phone numbers. The answer to my written question was automated drivel.
So there you are---my devons are probably in some Irish anglers bag just now waiting for the new subsidised season to begin as I uncovered a wee scam also.
i tracked the parcel online and it told me it was delivered to my address on 17th dec complete with a copy signature which of course is illegible and yet I have the card to prove it wasnt delivered because the postman couldnt obtain a signature.
No wonder the Royal Mail is losing fortunes.
