Here are my first efforts at a Templedog Conehead These were for a Flyswap on another Forum where I used to be a member. I found these incredibly time consuming to tie compared to normal Tubes etc. Very fiddly but worth the effort in the end as I feel this style of fly is a very effective one - with or without a Cone on the head of the fly. tweedbunnet

They look excellent perfect for the coming months. Just watch the wing puff up in slack water they swim deliciously Like yourself i gave conehead temple dog style flies a try recently and there were a few mistakes, with one even catching fire as i burred it, but once i got around presenting the wing well they are not too bad now. They should fly out on a shooting head sinker

Thanks for that. No wonder these are so expensive to buy. They do take a bit of time. Am looking forward to giving Templedogs a right good lash this season as I think they are a great style of fly and can be tied in so many lengths/weights and +/- coneheads etc to fish a wide variety of depths
