Fish better than the TD?? I'm not getting into that....remember 'Meisergate' My shrimps owe a great deal to the TD and to Scandi tying in general. I just adapted itf into the style of fly I liked . I think in terms of size the biggest of my shrimps would be 4" on a 1.25" copper tube or one of Helmie's tungsten tubes..

;DMeisergate that was a thread ;D When I use these shrimp type patterns its in normal flows and when the water has warmed up a bit say from mid March on while i think Templedogs are for big heavy flows(Tay)and want the fish to notice the fly. Probably all wrong but thats the way I fish and I'm happy Its great that we can see and use other countries ideas and patterns and use them where we think they'll work and I'm sure the Scandi's are grateful for the Willie Gunn

Had a mess around with this pattern on a loop tube but didnt have any chartreuse runner so used some fine t/dog hair instead- doesnt give the same look but usuable.

Nice flies there.
I have a chartreuse silver badger somewhere, will have to dig it out and see how it looks on one of these flies.
