Fenton
JC = Jungle Cock as per the "eyes" on the Junction Shrimp
It splits and Floo Glue is a special proprietary substance that helps repair this feather while keeping a degree of flexibility.
Some people use varnish, others may use Superglue. Floo glue is chosen by me as I think it is easy to wrk with when doing 20 feathers at a time and it dries quickly also.
Sorry if I have gone all jargon-speak but JC is pretty much standard shorthand these days for Jungle Cock and Floo Glue is definitely more widely used now than in the past (due to lack of top quality JC(!) capes)

I recognize those A wee funny about floo gloo. I was sat last night with a tray of split jc feathers on my lap, repairing all the splits, my friend popped in for a visit, and when he asked me what I was doing, I casually replied that I was floo gloo-ing my jungle cock. The look he gave me was absolutely priceless. ;D ;D

Reminds me of the recent experience I had.
My wife managed to lose her Enagagement Ring recently (or so she tells me0
She was sitting in the car waiting to pick up my son from school. It was really cold and she did not have gloves on. So she is sitting with hands above the steering wheel twisting the ring about when it falls off and slips down the Instrument panel where the Rev Counter and Speedometer are. Its gone down a gap etc and there is no sign of it, even with the local dealer's assistance taking the whole of the facia out.
I was telling this episode later to my two Insurance Administrators - ladies who have heard every hard luck story known to man - and was describing the loss.
"Yes, she was in the car when it happened. She was just sitting there and fiddling with her ring"
Both of them dissolved into laughter with the mental image I had created. They had to stop to take a breath as I suddenly realised what I had just said to them could mean something else also.
