Been bought by someone who fishes it regularly - English/loaded and didnt know he had also bought the current ghilies house as part of the deal. More interested in having it for his own personal use rather than as a commercial enterprise so don't know what that means

I take it that means Stan was evicted as it was a tied house?

Nothing that drastic yet as far as I know. The buyer just hadnt been fully aware that he was buying the house with the beat and that it was Stan's home - it was clear in the ads I saw but I guess if he has that amount of money kicking around he probably had an underling do the transaction for him!!
I guess the issue is that if he isn't that bothered about running it as a commercial interest then he may consider that he doesnt need a ghillie - I hope not and I hope he see's sense and runs it as a commercial beat....

It makes more sense that he would keep a ghillie there to keep everything right..."commercial" often means undue pressure......could turn out to be a really good thing, relaxed atmosphere, no pressure to get every last £ or keep the numbers high......maybe a bit of flexibility for the ghillie to do things as he sees fit......hope so.

Glad to see its business as usual at Dalguise with Stan still as the main man. Hopefully his new boss will deliver some improvements.

Walked the Dalguise beat on Friday. Couldn't believe that no-one was fishing as the beat was full of fish particularly the bridge pool with a fish showing every couple of minutes. Low water must be suiting the beat with their deep pools.
