Looking for a #10/11 multip line, +- medium belly.
Tried the Monteith (great line, but two loop to loop connections, not for me), old Rio mid-Spey, Bill Drury Guideline ( I have the 8/9, the floating and hover tips are very splashy on my hands, and only comes with an additional 2ips tip ). Also tried once a Rio Grande with a 100ft head!
Any recommendations? What about the DTX line?
Thanks in advance for your help.

Yes Martin, I tried the line which a Tay gillie was using to throw the odd cast when I was fishing his beat. Rather curiously, he described the line as 'a nice one but just that, give it a try'. I was rather more impressed. Well, neighbors are often like that ...
Following your remark, I had a look at the Monteith web site. I realize now that given the size of the Tay, the two tips were just the gillie option; in other words, there is the alternative of using a single tip.
That's good news, I have already a multip line for my short list.
By the way, I heard that they are somewhat light for their rating?
Internet fora like this one are indeed a precious resource.
Thanks Martin

I have a 10/11 Airflo double hand multi tip off my reel for the winter doing nothing if you want to try that?
Its a 52ft belly with 15 ft tips so a 68ft when used. The loops on it are not too clever but i just got an 09 9/10 this week and they have changed the loops to the rio style welded loops o its an improvement. £46 through tacklebargins just now

There's nothing light at all about them. The problem is some choose to use them with the head marker in the rings or at the cork handle instead of outside the tip by 2- 4 ft which is known as overhang. This overhang gives the correct head loading weight for a 10/11. If overhang is not acheived then obviously the line will feel light. A certain muppet on another forum started this nonsense but having seen him use the line in correctly then I undetstand. Use this product in overhang mode and you'll load all 10/11rods. And for the record I seldom fish the 78ft head option on the Tay and most of the time 68ft is perfect on a big river.

Well can only say how highly enjoyable I find fishing with Jocks multi tip systems. I have 3 of them use them to cover most of my fishing needs. Some highly professional AAPGAI Master casting instructors" comment favourably about these line systems here www.themonteith.com/Testimonials.asp. They cover most of my fishing requirements so that ensures I enjoy the flexibility they offer.
