Well, listeners.
What lines have you found work well on the above rod?
I am looking to make Spey casts from in front of a high and tight backdrop so a big D-Loop is not really possible.
Distance is not the objective. I would be well chuffed if I got 25 yds out.
Am prepared to try a Shooting Head (have a RIO AFS 10/11 for the big Rod) or a shorter Head traditional Spey Lines.
Am thinking I may try a 10 weight line like a Mach 2 or a Snowbee 1D.
Suggestions/ recommendations from your praxis please gents.
Ta muchly in advance

Being Welsh and small and not being a great Speycaster like you big Northern lads. The Jock Montieth 9/10 multi tip has been great on my :
13 ft Sharpes Aquarex and Loomis 14 ft
Done me a good price to with all the tips etc.

AFS shooting head or guideline heads, forget about the montieth.......its crap, you would need to much space for your 'D' loop.....heads are better for confind spaces.

Are you fishing from a boat? If so the Monty will be fine matched with the 8 hp engine and a flee ;D ;D ;D Now thats not the first time i have seen that mentioned on a forum. there was a gillie on one of lower tay beats said to me the montieth multi tip line was by far the best harling line they had ever used, they said that the tips fished with authority and wer aproved by the man himself.

Sunrayshadow,
I think the opinion is that the Monteith may be an excellent line for trolling/harling!
