Came across a video on YouTube promoting USAN Fisheries, the commercial netting enterprise which maintains their family run business which intercepts salmon and sea trout in the Montrose Basin, destined for the North and South Esks. The blurb refers to their operations as "environmentally friendly".
They now plan to start operations in Dunnet Bay (Caithness) which will intercept salmon heading for the Thurso River, Forss, Halladale and other rivers in the north. It may impact also on the Helmsdale and Brora.

If you are a subscriber and don't like what USAN continue to do on the North and South Esk and what they are now planning in Dunnet Bay in Caithness (intercepting Thurso, Forss and other inbound fish) you can still record your dislike of the video.
You might be able to read my comment if they haven't immediately blocked it:

Here's what I wrote if it has already been removed:
This will be another comment you dislike and undoubtedly it will be removed.
Where did you learn that targetting salmon and sea trout was environmentally friendly? While most anglers these days - including those who fish the North and South Esks - practice catch and release - you kill everything you intercept. Nothing environmentally friendly about that! Now you plan an interceptory fishery at Dunnet Bay.
The Thurso stopped netting wild salmon decades ago. Time you hung up your nets too!
The Scottish goverment should be chastised for their lack of control of our heritage.
What's the point of an angling catch and release policy when companies like USAN continue to rape the rewards.
(and that's not a typo!).
Tight lines
