River Forss, Caithness: Two-rods rotating on 4 beats (only 8 rods on the river) Week 23 (early July) 2010 best ever season, and 2011 third best total ever. Full details, catch stats and pics at: www.fishforss.netAlso short video on youtube at: www.youtube.com/watch?v=R2BjPyquAqUThis is a private sale - my rod and fishing partners, with reluctance. This is a spate river, and dependent on water for good sport, but 50 salmon to 8 rods in August this season, and two salmon and a grilse to one rod week 23 this season on the Monday, indicate the potential. In 2010, my best fish was 14 lbs, a hen returned, and the river was alive with fresh-run grilse and salmon. Sanders, who shares the two rods had a sea-liced best cock fish of 12 lbs. (see photo) Backingh up in a wind can be deadly on the bottom beat and I had 26 rises and follows on one day alone - very exciting if not that productive, as fish were coming short. That's fishing. May the Forss be with you. Happy to answer any queries - or even arrange for a visit - although the season is now closed. I also fish in April and can arrange to share my rod for anyone with a serious interest. And yes, great spring fishing too on beats 1 and 2 up to the falls. We had 7 springers in 2010 that week, and this year had a sea-licer along with several other fish taken by the other 3 rods. Tight Lines Mike S. Attachments:
