I'm looking to do some Trout fishing on the Don in 2012, and Grayling this Autumn/Winter anywhere in Scotland (nymphs and bait). Can anyone please offer advice on when and where might be best.
Thanks

for grayling try the teviot around ancrum, phesant tail nymphs are good. clyde also has good stocks of grayling and some really good trout fishing.

there are many good grayling waters, the clyde and teviot as already mentioned, as well as the tweed, annan to mention another 2. Hopefully this winter will be better than last year, the black death put pay to their stocks in many areas. This link should help with the Don. www.fishingthefly.co.uk/river-don-brown-trout-fishing.htmlIve fished the Don and liked it, but its no better than the Tweed around St Boswells or the Clyde around lamington IMO. Both these waters have good hatches from April onwards and some very big trout.
