Took this cock salmon today on a Willie Gun copper tube. Fish just over 11 pounds and returned. In autumn colours but a great fight from the fish. sewinfly...............

Braw fish Spencer where were u? River Taff mate, lost one last week to the fly, so this made up for it. Use to be a good salmon river until they built the barrage at Cardiff Bay. Problem we got is all the poachers, scrouts and Neanderthals killing the fish before they can spawn. Still a great river to fish. sewinfly...............

Out again and with the river up from over night rain the conditions again looked good and after several casts as the fly came round to the inside and I started to lift the rod up there was a big swirl behind the fly as a salmon went for it. There was no more action from the river and all flies were tried from tubes to shrimp patterns. Then there was just me and my new friend Tarka what a beauty watching her in the river. sewinfly.................

Did not expect to be out on the last day of the season after having a good time last week on the salmon up North , but finished work early and had a very quick hour. Knew where I wanted to go with a chance of a salmon. With leaves catching the treble shrimp fly I moved down the pool and put on a size 8 double shrimp as it swam round the drag sounded and after a short but good fight landed this cock in full autumn colours. sewinfly...........................

Thanks guys. Craig looking at your pic's mate you seemed to of had a very good year and Martin as well I would think. Sewin was quite poor for me this year, don't know why as I fished well and lost fish. Have enjoyed my salmon fishing this very much, I just wish we had the numbers of fish as they do in the North and next year will be on the Coquet even more. Hopefully a trip in March on the Whiteadder for springers. But where has the year gone, it's been so fast.Must be an age thing All the best to all the guys on this forum and thanks for the comments. Spencer...................
