Hi All, I've attached a link to a video for Commonty - hopefully they don't pull-it for music copy-right infringement!! (copy and paste into your browser).
Fishing was good but hard work due to the inclement weather that resided over the Dee catchment area.
I'm probably starting to bore people with Commonty videos so I added in a few cameo appearances from a 'friendly' Otter that seemed not to care. I think it's the same one that chastised me for fishing the Island pool in 2009. Anyway, nice to see and probably helped stir the fish up!! With the high water, I ended up using big carrots (Frances') - but also used a mini-cascade tube that I had tied for a TOTM in June on 'another forum' - looked good in the water and got me a fish.
I was using heavier kit than I had been using in March - intermediate line with fast sink tip (and just occasionally hitting the bottom). Not nice to cast - but functional!
Ade had great success with his self-tied Parkies on the final Saturday (size 9 Salar I think). So I'll take my hat off to him, and also to congratulate him on getting the 100th fish from Commonty. It's so under-rated - difficult to wade in places - but a great beat. Tight lines, Patrick

Nice footage. I've fished there a few times and it's a lovely beat with a top man for a ghillie in Ian Fraser.
Always enjoy watching your vids, especially in the close season. Whets the appetite during long winters!
Looking forward to your next one.
Craig

If you've ever picked someone elses rod up and given it a swing - it takes a while to get used to. Ian picked my rod up and casted the line almost to Aberdeen! Looking forward to being back up there for the Spring campaign. Regards, Patrick
