Gents,
I heard a rumour yesterday that the Tay season will be extended until 31st October this year - catch and release only for the extended bit, though.
Can anyone confirm/refute.....?

The beats wont be making any money off it! The money is to go the Tay Foundation Glad to hear it! Will there be a restriction on methods to ensure those beats which choose to disregard the boards "recommendations" comply?

How are they going to make sure all fish are photographed? as far as the Tummel junction? Pass thats just what i was told, think there will be paperwork to cover what the condition of the fish getting caught are. Think its from there down ghillied beats only Well I can't see what harm the trial can do, anymore word on the experimental netting?

It mentions that the extension will be from Perth up to Dalguise - should that not be up to Lower Kinnaird ? Ok, we now have an 'extension' - what about giving the kelts etc a break and putting the opening back a few weeks ie. 1st March - but we know that WONT happen dont we.

Call me cynical if you wish but I dont think it's anything to do with preserving tradition - more like a reluctance for some time shared lower Tay fishings to put their hands in their pockets and hand back folding money.
