Hi All, I've been looking at some some Sea Trout flies - again, saw this in T&S (May 2011) and modified - but reckon I'd use this as an alternative for a Silver Stoat for Grilse. Thread: Uni 8 Hook: Black Salar 13 Tag: Small oval silver Tail: Amherst Pheasant orange - but you can use the feathers on your GP head (because there are always some on there) Body: Mylar silver tinsel then into seal's fur (half and half - to be honest on a Salar - I am thinking it's not worth it and complicates things) Hackle: Black hen or Schlappen Throat: Few white/black flecked feathers from Guinea fowl (natural - blue would be good) Bling: 2 strands Black Krystal flash Over-wing: Black Artic fox - but pull all the guard hairs out so it's the soft mobile hairs JC Massive heed - job done! (I haven't varnished these ones properly yet) Regards, Patrick
