I did have superb pictures, videos and plenty to write, but some member of the underclass stole my camera yesterday so I've got nothing.
A week on a few rivers....Over 1000 miles driven, 5 beats on 3 rivers...
It started last Tuesday on the Tay. A superb dram and fish showing, then the water rose and upset them. Insert superb pictures here....
An early start on Thursday and a trip up the A9 to Aberlour for 3 days on Lower wester elchies.
Weefrankie got an 10lb fish at 10pm to brighten up a dour day. I spent 5 minutes fishing then headed of to the Glenfarclass distillery for a wander and a dram, cracking. Insert pictures here.
Friday began at 9pm and I even got the waders on and fished until lunch.xAlan got a 6lb grilse then wind started so I headed off to the Aberlour distillery for a tour, superb!! 6 cask strength drams at once, it's almost like being back at Uni. Great craic then a jolly walk back for dinner then an evening cast.
Saturday didn't start until 1pm for me, when I finally got up Alan had got a group invite to fish canterlands on the North Esk. An hour to waken up then 2 and a half hours driving and we were at Marykirk and the Canterlands beat. Superb water, lovely runs and fresh fish moving, the pictures were superb. An hour into fishing it I got a shout and I was off down to Morphie Dyke to fish. What a carbuncle the dyke is, but exciting to fish waiting for a pull. I seen a few fish but they were big, red and taking the Micky. Superb beats, very enjoyable to fish. The drive back to Aberlour was fun, but 24 hour petrol stations are few and far between so the last 15 miles were squeaky bum time, thankfully Keith had one.
Home time on Sunday...more driving...fun
Monday it's another 3 hour treck, from Troon back up to the North Esk and Pert. Water was spot on but there were kippers and not much else.
A frustrating week, no fish, an empty wallet and a camera down, the joys...
