Good evening gentlemen.
I'm trying to find a GBWG hairwing double pattern but only found cascade styles
Do you tie it with a tail or just a tippet before the body, mixed bucktail wing and throat?
Thanks
Steve

Steve a good GBWG version is the flamethrower but instead of a wound hackle to keep the wing up use mixed bucktail.

troutandsalmonforum.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=hairwingpatterns&action=display&thread=2911The above is the most successful for me taken from the river moy dressing style was just tying them for a customer this afternoon. Tag. flat gold mylar varnished and glued. Tail. g.p crest over dyed flo yellow. butt. red glo brite varnished. throat. mixed yellow , orange, black bucktail. under wing. to the end of g.p tail as above gold synthetics on top overwing. as above twice the length of hook. Head red over white tying silk. I prefer a very light mix hardly any black just very sparse amount of black, i caught evry spring fish of mine this year on this fly Hope this is what you were after All the best Aaron
