I recently bought a DTX shooting head rod. I wanted some advice on which one to buy and so i phoned Scott directly.
It went to voice mail and the following day Scott called me back, explaining he had been away. He then went on to be very helpful indeed and I can only be hugely supportive of Scott and his design team having experienced some excellent customer service.
That said i am not saying that your experience is acceptable, however my dealings with the DTX brand have been excellent to date and the products speak for themselves.

Scott phoned me today. What a nice man. Said he was sorry for not phoning me and insisted I take a gift of a 15ft DTX rod and matching line for all the stress he caused me. What a nice man!!!!

Guys
Given the bad vibes put out by some folk on this and other forums over the MacKenzie products and sales /support service I thought I'd throw in my tuppence worth.
After an unfortunate incident with my newly acquired 15ft DTX and a bit of debate with GAC over warranty procedures i had my rod replaced. This got back to Scott MacKenzie himself, and within 24hrs of my visit to GAC i had Scott on the phone.
The guy couldn't have been any more helpful, and after inquiring about my issue and making sure i was content with the resolution he was happy to give advice on queries i had on his range of lines and was in no rush to get rid of me.
I know only too well how quick people are criticize, I experience it all too often in my business, none of us are above making mistakes, but its how these are deal with, and in my opinion you wont get better service than I've experienced from Scott, so instead of knocking him lets get behind him and give him our support in taking a quality Scottish brand out into the world market.
Doug
As a footnote, fair play to the guys at GAC (who i note have also had a few negative comments thrown in their direction) for their customer service.

Well put Doug. there are always hiccups in any walk of life. Scott is a stand up guy and I know for a fact he cares deeply about his customers. As you say, we now have a Scottish brand making in-roads into the international market- more power to him. I had a day with the 14 SH rod and G2- very good. A bit stiffer than I like, but once Id warmed to it it worked like a charm. Here's the man himself into big Lochy springer.....it came off

Don`t seem to be able to find the G2 spey lines for sale anywhere ? Anyone know what is happening with them ? Try the first hit on Google, GAC, plenty in stock. Once you've done that you should maybe pop into Blokesavers, I mean Specsavers

Umtwist your knickers there ! I think they might be getting too tight and cutting off the blood supply to your brain ! GAC ? From past experience I wouldn`t buy a further thing from them. Seems strange that the man himself doesn`t have them for sale on his webshop and no other online retailer does either

G2 stands for generation two and applies equally to shooting heads and spey lines. It's to distinguish them from the original dtx lines.
