I had a cast with one of these on the 14ft dtx shooting head rod two weeks back on the lochy (thanks to the kindness of John Veitch) and hate to admit it but I just couldn't get on with either of them at all. I felt that the rod felt very light and whippy almost like a trout rod and to be fair, never having used a shooting head before I just couldn't see what all the fuss is about.
Now in fairness I was probably not putting the rod through it's true paces given that it was someone else's and I didn't have the funds to replace it should the worst happen. In addition to this I am a firm believer in the statement that "one man's meat is another man's poison" so am by no means saying that it is not a good or even great rod, it just didn't suit my casting style/ability. The line does look good though and i'm sure given time I could tame the bugger ;D

Very nice lines been using the 10/11 44gr 44ft floater for a while and it's got wings. It's a bit longer and heavier than the AFS which is a plus with a longer rod and easy casting style

The floaters are in Red, the Ints, s2/3 and s3/4 are in subtle sinky colours
