Fished Upper Farleyer on Saturday and had a good day out, morning was a bit of a right off as the Lyon was rising fast and running pretty mucky. Must have peaked around lunchtime and probably went up about 2.5-3ft which for those that know the beat will know it's a wee bit on the high side. Here's a few pics of the beat: Junction pool early in the day before it went up too much - Then again much later after it dropped to about 2ft - Shepherd's Pool running high and fast - In better shape later in the day - Looking upstream towards Piper's A well earned break for lunch - Then Upper Carse - and Lower Carse - I then tried Neil's pool however it was a pretty fierce weight of water pushing through so bounced down it pretty quickly - Back on later this week and here's hoping the water settles a wee bit(forecast not great mind you!) and that the water has encouraged a few fish up from the main river.

Great to see the pics Neill. Does look a tidy beat. I think the lunchtime shot may be the one you sent me that I couldn't see. Shame it was a bit high, I saw on the web that the Lyon was up, Jeez, some river that Tay, even up there. I guess I will have to take my skirt off come June and become a proper man!
There'll be more empty Malt bottles on that wall then though!

Spent another day on this superb beat yesterday in the company of a couple of forum members who were fishing the Tay for the first time. Arrived at the beat with 10" on the gauge which looked to be just about perfect, as a result I spent more time fishing than taking photos but here's a few random ones. Neil's Pool which was a cracking cast at this height Upstream towards Junction Millers Bed I was lucky enough to get a hold of this 12lber, with long tailed lice still attached, in the Junction in the morning - Quite a gentle start to the scrap but when it woke up it did it's best to head over the lip into the Pot/Miller's bed I was well into my backing before I managed to stop it, but if you know the beat you will realise if it had made it over the lip then that would have been that. Stupidly stopped filming before the release but fair to say it swam off with a fair splash of it's tail. s373.photobucket.com/albums/oo180/jaffa_s/Fishing%20Pics/Upper%20Farleyer/16th%20June%202011/?action=view¤t=Farleyer12lb.mp4Followed it up after lunch with my first Grilse of the season and my earliest ever, this time from the tail end of Lower Carse. Also liced but no long tails this time - A good day out in excellent company and a really good number of fresh fish were seen moving through the beat at various points in the day, most in the 12-15lb class but a good few grilse also spotted. Hopefully there will be some more fish to see in this thread when the others finish up on Saturday night.
