Gents,
....a bit of advice please. I mainly use tube flies, in various sizes with plastic, aluminiium or copper/brass bodies and have caught, as they say, my share. I want to try out coneheads this year though and have started tying up some patterns. However, I have been told to always finish with a hackle (to cover up the tying thread and get a nice snug fit for the cone at the front of the tube).
So....how would that be done on say a GBWG or a Monkey, which don't have hackles? Thanks

Thanks You don't have to finish with a hackle you've just got to keep the head small enough and narrow enough for the cone to go over it. The smaller the cone the harder it is to judge. There are a few step by steps in here which use cone heads
