Hi,
I'm thinking about booking some Salmon fishing on Finegand Estate for next summer. Driven past it several times, and looks inviting but struggling to get any real information.
Has anyone fished there? Is it a good spot? Any advice?

I fished the opposite bank once and it's nice water but you would be best to book at short notice when conditions are right. (Falling after a spate). Expect to see coloured fish there as well.....

I didn't catch anything but covered plenty residents. (I only fished for a couple of hours in the evening.) The guy that invited me up had a fish though.

Best fished with a spate running off from August onwards. Book at short notice as water levels are key. Brian & Shona have moved on but the new people (Andy & Claire) are nice. The number is 01250 885234. finegandestate.com/ If you like the Shee look further down to Easter Bleaton. I have had many bumper days of here (7 in one afternoon) in Sept/Oct. Dont expect to see much silver though! ;-) p.s. you will need to spin as well as fly fish to get the best out of finegand!
