Any body got any ideas for making home made otters for retrieving snagged spinners. Or are their any good ones online and if so whats the best one to get

A home made version.    For any one who has not used or seen one of these. When you get a spinner stuck on the bottom pass the line through the slot and close it with the elastic band,take a few steps up stream and keep the line tight, let the otter go and it will slide down the line into the water, it will continue down until it reaches your stuck spinner and the force of the water against it should release it.If it is suck solid and wont budge all you need to do is walk back down the water past the otter and the force of the water will send it back down the line to you. So far I have not lost a spinner since using an otter I dare say it will happen eventually. All it is is a circle of three quarter ply with the edge dressed off, a hole in the middle to take the top of your spinner, a slot cut from the edge to the centre, a rubber band to close it and a couple of bits of lead for weight. simple to make and they really do work . |

Aye that'll do for me I used to have one years ago and they definately work well and save loads of lures. The prices nowadays you need an otter if you spin at all  |

Heads up
I found 5 x otters on Ebay for £4.99 posted the plastic ones. I had one years ago from T&S and it worked a treat.
Now I've got 5
