There appears to be two schools of thought with regards to the position a Conehead should be situated.
There are "traditional" style tubes with Bucktail and a Single Wing of Fox Hair where the cone goes at the front of the fly.
That seems entirely logical and aesthetically pleasing to me. An example would be the Dee Fox or similar like a Conehead Cascade.
On Templedog flies, there appears to be three choices:
Conehead at the front as per recent flies of underghillie.
Conehead body as per article written in T&S or Flyfishing and Flytying by Frank Moors (or similar) or
Conehead in middle of Wing/Hackle - per some Nowegian tyers.
What are the preferences of this Forum's tyers and non-tyers who fish them?
I would be most interested to here the pro's and con's that come to mind

Hi tb,
i have tied tubes with 3 and 4 cones on the body of the tube and just dinny like them, i like the the cone at the head of the flee as it helps them swim level and not tail down.
I do how ever like a cone tied in just behind a hackle at the front end of a tube.

Tony
I don't like them with 3-4 on the body either but some people seem to.

I like the cone at the head of the fly and I quite like cone bodied flies in small sizes as well. Sloggi uses the wee cone bodied flies to good affect and there used to be some good pics of these on SFF but I cant find them now.
