its on a veniard type b plastic tube- they are part lined and have a recess for the hook.

Well you learn something every day. I have never come across them before, but will get a few to try out. The recess for the hooks sounds good.

Mo, I got them tubes in lough swilly a while back. Give John a buzz should have them. Very nice macd, gonne give that a go

Usually just use a thickish walled plastic tubing, I got from somewhere for tubes like that, but like the recessed idea for holding the hook.
