Butt. glo-brite multi-yarn no4. Body. holographic silver. Rib.wide oval silver. Hackle. large soft bright yellow. Wing. peacock herl mixed with peacock/black krinkle mirror flash, red arctic fox, blue goat, orange arctic fox with orange krinkle mirror flash over, yellow arctic fox with yellow krinkle mirror flash over, fiery brown raccoon dog with strands of silver gliss'n'glo over. Cheeks. optional, jungle cock. Head. red.

Tony You are becoming a neo-classical tyer! If there is such a thing. Believe it or not, I had a fully dressed Helmsdale Doctor on a Tube that was tied in the original style but with feathers. It may be still be around but probably at bottom of the garage somewhere. Regrettably, the picture quality was poor but you will get the idea There is a fully dressed Ackroyd on a Tube below it. As you will see from the ruler below, they were about 2.5" or so in length. I reckon they were made around the late 1950's or early 60's tweedbunnet

UG Unfortunately not. these were part of a job lot I bought around 30 years ago from the widow of a very keen Spey and Tay Angler who lived in Nelson, Lancashire. Near enough 400 salmon flies of every type and size for about £20. Still use some of them. That collection gave me plenty of patterns to try to copy in my early days of salmon fly tying tb
