Please help me out.
If you are fishing a faster Sinking Shooting head, is the general view that you should use an Intermediate Running Line like Guideline Compline in 50lb or a Floating Shooting line like Rio or similar
I use Orvis Floating 0.034" which is fine so far
What about intermediate shooting heads - Floating or Sinking Running line best?

I use Compline with all my shooting heads. I don't change the running line if using a floating head. I like the slow sink running line which gets down out of the wind on those windy days when a floating running line would flap about losing control and/or creating wake.

Reason I was asking was I am fishing The Lees on 5 Feb and I get the feeling you need to put a fair bit of line out in what can often be windy conditions around there.
Looks Like I will be ordering some 50lb Compline. Anyone wanting to split a spool of 100 yards with me?

Well, at least I can tie that knot. I learnt it as a kid and have used it ever since for all my casts.
