Where is the best place to buy the tube that covers the hook and the actual tube fly? or is there a simple substitute any where, E.G. like the plastic tubing from an aquarium filter pump??

i use the veniards silicon tubing kenny, as tb says it does the slipstream aluminum and copper tubes fine, it also does all the various bottle tubes fine aswell, it will also stretch enough for some of the bigger diameter tubes.

Douggie at flymakers has great extension tubing, and it comes in various diameters to suit either slipstream/bottle tubes rigth down to small enough to fit over 1.4mm scandi tubing without slipping It is the crystal clear medical grade tubing and not the cloudy, clear silicone that a lot of places supply. The walls on the flymakers tubing are thicker and more robust, and are not effected by cold temperatures like som e of the neoprene or thin silicone tubes. Hope that helps a bit
