The Coolraw killer started life in Co Mayo as far as i know. Its a good fly for springers and grilse

i first saw ref to these in chris mann's book, but only a computer image- which is rubbish.

Tail: Yellow bucktail with six to eight strands of pearl or lime Krystalflash sandwiched in the middle then a long yellow chinese hackle as a collar over the hair tail and tied well back. Rear body: Yellow floss, Rear Rib: Oval silver, Middle Hackle: Yellow tied long, Front Body: Yellow floss, Front Rib: Oval silver, Wings/cheeks/eyes: Jungle cock, Front Hackle: Hot orange, Head: Black.

Good tying sinktip, the tail is literally glowing.
I like this method of tying the tails, as it gives them more body, and the hackle will provide movement in slower water, while the bucktail will move when the water speeds up.
This pattern was apparently the inpiration behind the McCormick's shrimp.
