I been using various bucktails the last few days and have found that the quality between the makes I have varies a lot(Orvis,White river,Veniards) with Orvis probably being the best of the lot and a couple of the Veniards ones unusable. One of the problems of buying unseen

was in the gac today looking for a fl yellow had to go through about 10 packet before l got what l wanted

not sure if the dyeing process has owt to do with it, but yellow seem to be the worst tails of any make. The cheaper options are not worth looking at IMHO. Agree, even some veniards are only fit for the bin.

I agree that Orvis (Waspi) are the best IMHO
Mind you,some of the Veniards Bucktails have such thick hair at the base that they make excellent tails for flies such as Ally's Shrimps. Almost like Boar Bristle!
