One type of fly I have not fished much is a small heavy copper or tungsten tube of about 0.5" or less. I have tended to fish doubles or Trebles apart from Spring when I use a large Tube.
I have got some small copper ones from various people and they tend to be just a bare or silver or gold tinsel covered tube, a few hairs and one or two strands of microflash top and bottom and sometimes JC nails tied at side of tube. Usually with a clear tube at the rear.
I would welcome any hints or tips on the types of pools/waters this type of fly should be given a try out on and what sort of set up would be used tacklewise?
