What a cracking day. With 11ft on the gauge the night before, and the colour the South esk was on my way way to Newtyle, i would have happily bet a lot of money you would have blanked. What was the average size of the seatrout?
Well done

Well done Allan. A good days sport there for sure. Got an invite to Balmakewan later on in the month and would love a day like that - fresher looking fish though

Today was to be my last visit of the season and a quick check of the gauges in the morning to find the river was 2ft 2in and falling(perfect:rolleyes:) Conditions were tricky to say the least with a nightmare downstream wind and plenty leaves. I had one pull in the Pipe and then a wee grilse about 4/5lb on the Calvins. Nothing else all morning till about 12 then I had a solid take and played a good freshish fish in the Pipe again on the Calvins but it pinged out when nearing the net. Fished the top beat in the afternoon and it was quiet with very few fish showing and the ones that did were well coloured. Never touched a fish and it didnt feel right somehow. A couple of picture of the top beat.
