Anyone got a picture or dressing (or preferably both) of Pat Nicols popular Thurso fly the "Puppy Dog" I know you have both Macd, but will you share, thats totally up to you. I tried his website but its "off the air" until the winter.

no problem. its more of a style than a pattern The Puppy Dog is simply a small foxwing tube. the dressing is usually a gold bodied Munro's Killer, but any hairwing pattern will do nicely- I like Kenny's Killers and Thurso Dogs. Dress in 1/4" & 1/2" plastic tubes and bigger coneheads. I saw Pat recently and he was using the tiniest of tubes armed with s20 trebles. Helmie also has strong links with this- he calls them baby templedogs.

The bottom one's a Thurso Dog...puppy dog...
Not sure what Ross's used for the tag - looks like Glo-Brite (that's what I use) on a varnished body?
The Thurso Dog's done well for me this season tied on micro tubes. Cheers Ross!

Very nice tyings. I tied something similar for my Sea Trout fishing earlier this season. What tubing have you used Ross? Im using 1.5mm with a silicon hook sleave, but I much prefer the look of the fly when the hook is inside the plastic tubing.

Just noticed your question on this one ccac, I'm sure ross has already answered you but just incase, it looks like veniards 1/2 inch slipstream plastic tube. the ones that are partially lined leaving a space for the hook to fit into. Dave.
