Here is my version of Davie Mcphails Comally Flamethrower. I have adapted the colour scheme ever so slightly to suit my home waters of ayrshire, changing the hot orange rear body for sunburst, as it shows up better in peaty water, and adding a dyed red GP tippet instead of hot orange for the wing. I love the colour comination on this fly and hope to do some real damage with it in the backend. Hope you like it. Dave.

Like it Dave, that will do damage on any river just clearing up after a spate

Just a wee question to anyone who fancies chipping in. Do you think this flea would look better with JC? I think that if the wing was perhaps bucktail JC might look ok, but I'm not sure it needs it with the GP wing, I reckon it would detract from the look of the fly? ?? Opinions please. Dave

I think it would look good with JC as the front of the flee is quite dark and would contrast well

I know what you mean about the dark light contrast, the fly is not actually as dark in the flesh as it look sin the picture, the wing is red GP although it looks more like a purple or claret in the pic.
I thought perhaps a well marked silver badger hackle might set it off rather than the black cock hackle??
